Basilica Hudson: Wedding Venue in Hudson, NY

Basilica Hudson
Address: 110 South Front Street, Hudson, NY 12534

Basilica Hudson is an 1880s solar powered factory sitting right on the river. It has kept every bit of the industrial character that made it worth saving. The steel is still steel, the ceilings are still enormous, and the light coming through those windows is the reason I keep saying yes to weddings here. It suits couples who want the building to be part of the design rather than something to work around.
It holds up to 300 or more guests, there is no curfew, and remaining 2026 dates are limited with 2027 and 2028 open.
Basilica is not a single room, which is what makes it work for a whole day rather than just a reception. The Main Hall runs 6,000 square feet and seats up to 350. It is the space most couples picture when they imagine getting married here. North Hall is 1,740 square feet and seats up to 250, which makes it the usual choice for an indoor ceremony. The West Wing adds another 1,340 square feet and holds up to 275 standing, and it works well as catering space or a second bar. The Green Suite is smaller at 900 square feet, and it gives you somewhere to get ready or somewhere to disappear for ten minutes.
Across the street you have the riverfront, and it deserves to be a real ceremony option rather than a backup. One of my couples married under a willow tree in Rick’s Point Park with the Hudson behind them. It gave them a completely different set of photographs from anything we made inside, and the walk over takes two minutes.
The rental is generous. You get ten foot farm tables and chairs seating up to 300, more than eighty ceremony chairs, portable bars, string lighting, a projector with a movie screen, and large indoor bathrooms. Parking is plentiful and the venue is pet friendly. You are also a short walk from the train and from hotels in town, which matters when half your guest list is coming up from the city without a car.
Basilica works with one exclusive caterer, Local 111, and menus are designed with them rather than chosen from a list. That is worth knowing early, because it shapes what is possible. The best food I have eaten at a wedding in this building was an Asian influenced menu built around the couple, and guests kept talking about it between courses. If you have a particular cuisine in mind, bring it to the first conversation. Outside caterers can be permitted where there is a cultural requirement, and food trucks are allowed for rehearsal dinners and after parties.
Every rental includes planning and coordination staff, and Hudson Valley Ceremonies is the exclusive planner for the venue, charged as an additional fee. A room this size with this much freedom needs somebody holding the timeline. The day I shot here ran exactly to plan without any of it feeling rigid.
Basilica does not publish pricing on its own website, and the third-party listings vary enough that repeating one here would be guessing. What the venue does say is that there is no per person charge on top of the rental, and that remaining 2026 dates are discounted. Catering is quoted separately. Ask them directly for a real number, and expect it to move with the season and with how many days you book.
The light is the main reason to shoot here. Large industrial windows and a lot of ceiling give you a quality of falloff that is hard to find anywhere else in the Hudson Valley, and the building flatters a documentary approach far more than a posed one. If you can, get ready with your people rather than away from them. The couples who spend that morning together give me the best photographs of the day before anyone has put a dress on. There is also no curfew here, which is rarer than it sounds and worth building your timeline around.
