Tyler & Jordan’s Greywacke Wedding
Our Engagement Story
We travelled to Asheville, NC with a few friends for a long weekend of sightseeing and brewery tours. Jordan had planned on proposing on a hiking trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but the weather in NC mid-January was so frigid that the road to the hiking trail was closed. He came up with a backup plan on the spot, finding a small waterfall in a national park close by. We arrived and made our way down the icy steps to the bottom of the falls, which is where he popped the question.
Marriage to us means…
Making an effort to choose each other each and every day. Always being each other’s biggest supporter – and being a voice of reason.
How did you choose Greywacke?
We had been looking at local venues, and my father (Tyler’s dad) happened to mention that a childhood friend of his owned a wedding venue in Grafton, NY. We went and toured the property and fell in love with the location.
A memorable moment from our wedding was…
The Axe Throwing Trailer – It was a huge hit among all the guests!! Eating dinner privately in the loft – being able to watch over our guests having a great time. Also having all of our loved ones under one roof – a lot of our family travelled to attend so being able to see them all was truly special.
If I could give other couples to be one piece of advice…
Don’t sweat the small stuff – your wedding day goes by SOOO fast – try and take it all in. Your wedding day is exactly that – your day – make sure to do what makes the both of you happy!
