Greywacke Meadows: Wedding Venue in Grafton, NY

Greywacke Meadows

Address: 40 Dunham Road, Cropseyville, NY 12052

Greywacke Meadows is 85 acres in Grafton, New York, with a Cropseyville mailing address, close to where New York, Vermont and Massachusetts meet. The property is a farmhouse, a post-and-beam barn, and across the street a ceremony meadow dotted with the glacial boulders the venue is named for. It is a quiet, wooded place, and it does not try to be anything else.

The day moves across the road. You get ready in the old farmhouse or in the loft of the barn, you marry in the meadow in front of a post-and-beam arbor, and you walk back to the barn for dinner and dancing. The barn has sliding doors that open onto the patio, so the party can move outside to the fire pit once the music winds down. Tables, chairs and linens are included.

Their published listings describe the barn as 3,800 square feet and seating up to 200 guests, with a 230-person maximum on one level. Those figures come from the venue’s listings, so confirm them directly. Grey House, on the property, is available to rent for overnight stays, which helps when family travels in.

Catering is flexible. Greywacke Meadows has hosted everything from barbecue to formal plated dinners, and I have photographed weddings here fed by Dinosaur BBQ, Nicole’s Catering and Mazzone Hospitality. Their site does not publish a bar or alcohol policy, so ask about it early.

The venue does not publish hours, a season, a rain plan or rental rates on its website. That is worth knowing before you fall for the meadow, so ask for the venue fee, the date availability and the weather plan in your first message.

Details as published on the venue’s website and listings, October 2026. Confirm directly.

Plan for the walk. Ceremony is across the street from the barn and farmhouse, so leave a few extra minutes between getting ready, the ceremony and cocktail hour. The meadow, the farmhouse and the barn all photograph differently, and the evening patio and fire pit make for some of my favorite late frames. If you want portraits at the Dunham Reservoir nearby, we can work that into the day.
