Nicole & Nick at Ohana Family Camp

Nick and Nicole got married at Ohana Family Camp in Fairlee, Vermont. They built the whole weekend around their theme, Camp Nic(k). Most of their guests came up from New York City, and the idea was to get everybody off their screens for a few days and enjoy connecting with one another in beautiful Vermont. The wedding landed on the Sunday of a holiday weekend, which left the Saturday open for activities and a field day that people could pop in and out of. A really nice way to not have to cram in all the hellos and conversations on the wedding day itself.

The morning started at a nearby house, with the guys getting ready in one part of it and the ladies in another. They did their first look in the yard, along with portraits and their private vows, before everybody walked over to the ceremony site. Ohana sits on 116 acres of woodland and waterfront, and the spot they chose looks straight out across Lake Fairlee.

The rest of the evening moved between the wraparound covered porch, the lawn and the reception room. The band sounded great and kept the floor full for most of the night. For anyone who was not finished when the official reception ended, there was a silent disco and a cigar bar on the way out.

A camp wedding gives you a whole weekend instead of a single day, and Nick and Nicole used every hour of theirs. By the time Sunday came around, everyone was old friends and it made the day feel so warm, beautiful, and easy.
