Kacy & Jarrett’s Summer Barn at Indian Ridge Wedding
My time with Kacy & Jarrett at Indian Ridge was magical. Hot summer day, incredible food, tons of beautiful space to enjoy celebrating with one another, and unlimited energy on the dance floor.
We took the morning easy. They got dressed and headed to the waterfall for their first look where we spent some time just taking it all in. As guests arrived they cooled off in the barn and spent some time with their wedding parties as the seats filled. Post ceremony everyone spread out, played some lawn games, and beat the heat with some drinks and delicious food. We took a quick walk for portraits, and got ushered up the hill for a few more. As things moved inside the dance floor stayed packed from the second it opened until the night ended.
A beautiful low-key, high-energy celebration for these two.
How We Met
We met freshman year of college. We were on the same sports team at Penn State and got together in sophomore year.
Our Engagement Story
Kacy loves reading and naturally loves bookstores. Jarrett planned a magical bookstore crawl through Brooklyn and Manhattan and ended the night proposing in front of the Queensborough Bridge. It was awesome.
Marriage to us means…
We’ve been together for almost 10 years and decided to get married as a public acknowledgement of the partnership we have already built and to vow to each other that we will continue to build that partnership for the rest of our lives. Marriage to us means the continuation of that adventure and dedication to each other.
How did you choose your venue/location?
Both of us love nature and being outside and it was important to us to find a venue that used the nature around it as the beauty of the space. We really did not decorate much beyond what just existed already on the property.
A memorable moment from our wedding was…
The dancing! Our family and friends showed up and showed out. The dance floor was going hard before dinner even started and kept going all night. We really prioritized a great DJ and she delivered. Even many of the folks not dancing stayed crowded around the dance floor to watch because the energy was so great.
If I could give other couples to be one piece of advice…
Everything will be okay! We decided early on we weren’t going to get stressed about our wedding, and we know that is easier said than done, but we worked to create space during the planning and also during the day to ensure we all (including family + wedding party members) felt like we could just enjoy the day. Even if something was thrown off, we all knew it really would be fine and so we opted out of getting worked up about anything and just let things go if we needed to. It’s tough to keep that mentality, especially as the day gets closer but we had such a pleasant wedding day and were never rushing around and we think that truly made all the difference. So create space for calm and know that everything will work out, because it really will.
Thanks to everyone for their hard work making this day such a blast.
