Cecilia & Tyler’s Fontainebleau Inn Wedding

Cecilia and Tyler’s wedding at the Fontainebleau Inn was the perfect mix of relaxed and timeless. The historic property offered countless beautiful backdrops, from the cozy study where Cecilia got into her dress to the breathtaking 1800s chapel tucked just a short walk through the woods. The inn’s stately setting right on Cayuta Lake gave the day that classic Finger Lakes charm, while its intimate rooms and welcoming atmosphere made it feel like a private retreat for their closest friends and family. Every detail felt natural and personal, setting the stage for a celebration that matched the couple’s laid-back energy.

The day was full of thoughtful touches and genuine joy. Cecilia’s grandmother made an impressive cake that wowed guests, and the build-your-own bud vase bar during cocktail hour gave everyone something creative and fun to do. With perfect weather, the lakefront views, and a DJ who kept the party going hard all night, guests truly celebrated without holding back. Cecilia and Tyler never strayed from what felt authentic to them, keeping things simple and stress-free while soaking in every moment. It was one of those weddings where everyone left feeling like they had just been part of something truly special.

How We Met

We met at work! Tyler as a med student and Cecilia as a psychiatry resident on the neurology service. We started out as friends who liked to bike ride together but then it evolved into something more.

Our Engagement Story

We went to the Catskills for an autumn leaf peeping weekend and when we got to this lake, Tyler proposed using my grandmother’s heirloom engagement ring!

How did you choose your venue?

We wanted some aspect of an outdoor wedding but was nervous about full outdoors due to unpredictable weather and some guests not tolerating certain temperatures well. The Fontainebleau Inn had indoor ceremony, outdoor cocktail, indoor dining, and outdoor dancing so it was perfect. Also the historic chapel from the 1800s is *chefs kiss*.

A memorable moment from our wedding was…

Reading each other our private vows at the chapel in the woods before guests arrived. Oh andddd our make-your-own arrangement flower bar!

If I could give other couples to be one piece of advice…

This may be a hot take, but I don’t think you should be glued to pinterest for “inspo” because then you get swayed by things that look super aesthetic and trendy but may not be super authentic to you. Do what makes you happy 🙂

Thank you to all the vendors who helped this day come together!
