Ashley & Scott’s Keepsake at the Academy Wedding

Ashley & Scott’s Keepsake at the Academy Wedding was a blast. These two enjoyed the hell out of their day and I am here for it. After all, a wedding is a celebration and they made sure to keep the energy high and have fun with every part of the day. Quick getting ready, first look and photos by the water, and off to the venue to settle in, get married, and have a blast.

How We Met

Scott and I met in 2008 at the Rinks. An ice skating rink in Shelton where middle schoolers all went on Friday night to hangout and have fun!

Our Engagement Story

We got engaged in the parking lot of the salon  Ashley works at  under a beautiful sunset. The date was 9.21.22. Scott had made a comment to a coworker to keep him updated with how Ashley’s day was going. When she came outside she was in her favorite sweatsuit. She had stayed for a class and decided to get comfy. If you couldn’t tell Scott was extremely disappointed she had changed. It was us in a nutshell. Scott did make sure to do it on a time my nails were looking good though! Our engagement was long overdue as we had know we were going to be together forever. We were in the process of renovating our house and had 6 weddings to attend in 2023, which pushed our engagement into a 2 year engagement. When we found our venue and they had 9.21.24 available we knew it was meant to be.

Marriage to us means…

Marriage to Scott and I is a piece of paper that makes it truly official. When we met in 2008 and started dating we knew it was always going to be US! Marriage is a best friend and husband.

How did you choose your venue?

Researching online. The Keepsake was in our top 3. It was the first and only that we visited. Scott was not mad about it.

A memorable moment from our wedding was…

Besides the entire day. Andrew brought us out for sunset pictures through the city of Poughkeepsie and the reactions we received from all the people walking, biking, and driving hit different. As we were walking down the sidewalk the drivers were beeping, waving, congratulating, and saying how beautiful we looked.

If I could give other couples to be one piece of advice…

Do what makes you happy and don’t overthink all the little things. A wedding is one day and marriage is a lifetime.
